New Year, New...........Blog?

The post title is pretty self-explanatory. This blog has been my online scrapbook for the bulk of my adventures throughout high school, and since high school is almost over, this is the closure I need to start a blog that's more grammatically correct than this, and a bit more thoughtful.

Thanks for the journey.

I'll be moving to avisualsoliloquy.blogspot.ca

Cruisers and Bikers

Warning: This is a venting post, so don't let the accompanying photo fool you - I just feel that a post without a photo on this blog would feel really bare and uncomfortable to see.

Throughout the summer, I almost always resort to my bicycle as my choice method of transportation, for the sake of keeping active, and not having to walk. And there's also the fact I'm not allowed to drive too.

Over the course of this summer, biking around has led me to see that the roads always have a blundering mess of reckless drivers waiting around the corner. And so, it's always important to be super careful.

Now, biking for so long has only made me get used to the dangers of the roads (when those dangers shouldn't even be there in the first place), but it was only yesterday, after getting hit by a car, that I've realized I've had enough. Yesterday, I biked across a crosswalk after the pedestrian light flashed. A driver, whose car was already stopped, made a right turn and bumped into me, though nothing much happened other than me tumbling off my bike. I'm blessed enough to not have attained any injuries, but I thought, what if the car wasn't at rest? Yikes.

So, drivers, please drive carefully and safely. And to pedestrians and bikers, make sure drivers see you (and if they see you yet something happens, honestly, just sue them.)

Sorry if this post is a bit too serious for your taste.

Meeting Halfway

The past few weeks of summer have been largely filled with learning, writing, teaching, reading, exercising, and the occasional adventure. The weird thing is, I wake up earlier in the summer than I usually do for school. You'd think that I'd use the summer time to get some sleep, but really, I just don't want to miss a moment of summer (I'm more than willing to miss some school to be honest). Right now, I'm not completely following through with my predetermined schedule and bucket list, although it helps keep my days more structured. I'd like to think of them as something that is set really high and in order to reach it, I'd have to jump. Even if I don't reach all my goals, I'd still be further than I would be without them. Weird analogy, I know.

For now, I'm just looking for anything super angsty to get some writing and art inspiration.

The following photos depict little fragments of summer: tree climbing, the zoo, getting caught in storms and some weird nature outings.
